War and Peace

Nico Brandt may have won the battle at Infineon Raceway, but Ryan Field won the war. Field took the overall IZOD IndyCar Series – Road title with 651 points, on the strength of six wins and seven poles in seven starts. So strong were his performances in the first four weeks of the season, that he needn’t have bothered to participate in the final two online races of the season at Watkins Glen and Infineon. Field’s decision not to participate opened up the winner’s circle for some other sim racers to take victories, as nine drivers took the 10 official races held.
