Second IndyCar practice washed out

Heavy rain caused a wash-out of Friday's second IndyCar practice session at Long Beach. A thunderstorm shortly before the session was due to begin was followed by showers throughout the hour that had been allocated for running, meaning that almost none of the drivers left the pitlane. The only exceptions were Ganassi duo Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon, both of whom had sat out the morning session due to a change to the turbos on their Honda engines.
